Luannah Victoria Arana
Meet Luannah, Your Instructor
Hi There! Let me share a little bit about me, my life experiences and travels that led me to offering the work I do through The Aloha Method.
This way you can get a sense of my approach to healing and coaching, and get a feel for who I am.
For me, life is an extraordinary adventure of exploration and discovery. I see challenges and adversity as being the source of our greatest possibilities that activate our creativity and intelligence to grow.
Having lived and travelled overseas for many years, my life and mind have been touched and shaped by many cultures and their life wisdoms and teachings, lending me a very broad mind and heart.
Since early childhood I always had questions about the deeper meaning of life and was a curious explorer of meditation, metaphysics, philosophy, psychology, religion, you name it, if it had anything to do with understanding life, I gobbled it up.
I was looking to understand my life, my family and my place & purpose in the larger scheme of things. There was an excessive amount of trauma in my childhood which had set me up to have very low self-esteem and a lot of confusion.
At the age of 16 I attempted to take my life. At the time I had been hanging out on and off the streets as a Goth punk for almost two years.
I panhandled, slept in all night clubs, in stairwells, and in Hotel bathrooms. I would go back and forth to home but always returned to my friends on the street who were my self-made family.
After that attempt I went back home to try to start over.
This led to me going to a self-development modelling agency where I started coming back to life.
I ended up modelling for a few years then I moved to Germany when I was 18 where I started working in the Hospitality Industry.
I lived in Germany and Switzerland for almost 11 years and in that time I would save my money and travel all over the world.
It is in Germany that I got involved with learning various massage & energy healing modalities, both as a way to heal my self, and to grow the natural gift of healing that I had since I was little. Even in my punk days I meditated and prayed.
This inner journey of seeking to know and understand myself is the root and core of my being, as far back as I can remember. It is what drives me in life. It is that passion that saved my life and kept me moving forward.
Many more traumatic and abusive situations filled my 20's, where I almost completely gave up on living several times. Even with all I knew and understood, there were gaps where I was unable to access and apply it.
My subconscious beliefs and patterns that kept me attracting more and more hard knocks, were stronger than my conscious capacity to navigate in the moment.
It wasn't until my 30's that I came to discover I had PTSD- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I read the book Waking The Tiger-Healing Trauma by Peter Levine and I finally made sense to myself. My healing took on a new velocity and texture.
I discovered that this is the missing piece in all the Law of Attraction and Spiritual Teachings that I had explored. Thats why they rarely work, leaving people burnt out and more confused then ever.
Most spiritual teachings teach renouncing the material world, so therefore they really have no knowledge to offer on how to navigate the world we live in everyday. It's no wonder their is so much confusion and why its hard for so many reach a level of success and abundance.
Law of Attraction focuses on Intention of the mind and completely ignores the reality that our subconscious mind rules 95% of all our choices and what we attract. The underlying message being that If you don't attract what you want then you are a failure.
I wanted to find a way to be in the world and successful even though I am very spiritual.
It never made sense to me, if we are souls here to experience the material world, why do we have the idea we are supposed to escape it, why then would we be here? It made no sense to me at all.
I kept looking for ways to integrate all I had learned and come to understand, in a way that I could easily implement it in my daily life.
Then I found Hawaii!
I spent 5 years travelling back and forth learning with my Kahuna Elder, who eventually initiated and certified me to be Kumu and Kahu, Teacher and Healer of Hawaiian Healing Wisdoms and practices.
The Life Principles they carry and offer that I learned brought it all together for me.
My heart felt 100% at home in Hawaii and with their wisdoms. No gaps. No dogmas. Nothing is missing. Just pure love and usable wisdom and insight that can be easily implemented by anyone.
My life is a living testament that we can grow and heal beyond trauma and live a happy and fulfilling life. That is my ultimate authority in offering this work.
I have been offering a multitude of healing practices and techniques for 25 years now to well over 6000 clients. Through each one of them I learned and refined my skills so much. And I keep learning everyday. I am an eternal student of life!
Up until Covid, I only offered in person Personal Healing Retreats from mine and my husbands Retreat Centre, Serenity By The Sea, on the West Coast of BC. Now, as with everyone, there is a need to create and cultivate new ways of living and being.
Missing doing my work and also needing to create a new source of income I created The Aloha Method to share with you everything that helped me to get where I am now.
This year I published my first book that ranked #1 Best Seller in five categories in its first month. Amazing! Resilience, Grace and the Art of Showing Up- A Spiritual Journey of Empowerment Against All Odds is the title, where I share my life story of overcoming trauma to build the life I have today. It's available in my store here.
So, that's a bit about me.
I absolutely love what I do and I will be so happy to have you join the 12 week Group Coaching Program, or Individual Coaching, so that you too can be liberated from all the entanglements and stories that you feel are holding you back from thriving.
